What makes this model so special is the elaborately hand-painted and hand-enamelled mother-of-pearl dial. For the first time Alexander Shorokhoff uses miniature painting, which requires extraordinary precision and skillful hand guidance. To produce such a miniature painting, the painter works with a magnifying glass and needs on average 40 hours.

The painter’s brush floats on the dark brown mother-of-pearl and immerses the observer in an unusual, fairytale-like representation of the dial of the “Fairytale” model. It tells the wonderful story of the firebird. The firebird is a bird in Slavic mythology. The magically glowing bird lives in a distant land and brings its captor both blessings and calamities and becomes the subject of difficult tasks. The rich plumage of the firebird has many shades and shines in red, orange and yellow, like the embers of a fire.
