WITHOUT COMPROMISE – LOS CRANEOS NEGROS

The twentieth model of the collection “UNIQUEO” is dedicated to the Mexican artist Frida Kahlo and bears the name: “AS.UNIQUEO.20 – Los Craneos Negros“.

The “Los Craneos Negros” is a Mexican avant-garde association of an art watch with two time zones. In the spirit of “art meets Mexican culture,” this unique model fits uncompromisingly into the design concept of artist Alexander Shorokhov.

Two skulls enameled by hand with black enamel and polished serve as the main motif of the watch. Deeply rooted in Mexican culture, skulls symbolize the game of life and death; they became the namesake for this watch model and represent Frida Kahlo’s struggle with death. The numerous black-coated metal appliqués with their pyramid-shaped, tapered heads on the matte dial add even more depth to the watch.

The stainless steel case and the two crowns, which receive a black IP coating, are also uncompromisingly black.

The watch is designed as a “doubletimer”. On one time zone there is the date display, on the other time zone there is a central second hand. Two automatic movements are used for this double time display. Both were engraved by hand and can be viewed through the sapphire crystal caseback on the back of the watch. The hands are painted black and white to create some contrast, while the black ostrich leather strap is another dark design philosophy.

Once again, this is an artistic yet elegant luxury automatic watch that fully lives up to its concept and embodies another unique piece in the 30th anniversary collection of the manufacture.
